Congratulations on receiving or purchasing a voucher. I have created this page to help you get started with booking your adventure. There are two parts to this page as you can use your voucher one of two ways:

1-2-1 Photography Adventure Days

You might first of all be asking yourself, why are they called adventure days? I feel there is more to photography than taking a photograph. For me it’s all about the adventure and if we are able to capture a great image while on this adventure, bonus! The word adventure can mean a 1000’s of things. For me personally, I use photography as a reason to get outdoors, feed my creative, a source of meditation, be alone with my thoughts, create stories and I love nothing more than printing a photograph and sharing the story behind that image. Adventure days are designed for everyone, from the beginner to the semi professional. If you are just starting out and looking to learn the basics or maybe you have been doing this for a while and looking to take your passion to a new level. You might simply want to discover new locations and compositions and chat about photography. The day is tailored around you.

Here are just some examples of what we can cover:

  • Seascapes and slow exposure,

  • Astro photography,

  • How to capture the Aurora borealis,

  • Macro photography,

  • Editing & Lightroom

  • Reading the light on the landscape,

  • Understanding Exposure, aperture & ISO

  • Composition and how to frame your image,

  • Understanding filters,

  • Sunset/Sunrise Photography

You might be comfortable with all of the above and just simply looking to discover new locations to photograph. That is not a problem. I have spent countless hours & days exploring Scotland and what it has to offer.

Here are just some of the locations that I have come to know well: Aberdeenshire, Angus, Moray coast, Speyside, Cairngorms, Glencoe*, Gairloch*, Torridon* & Assynt*.

*Glencoe, Gairloch, Torridon & Assynt are only available for Full Days or multiple day sessions.

Note: If you live locally to Aberdeenshire/Moray/Angus and you have a full day adventure, you can opt to split your session in to two half days and keep it locally.

Fitness Level, as with everything, the day is worked around your fitness level. If you want to keep it simple and visit some roadside locations or if you are comfortable to trek for a a few hours up a mountain before sunrise. There is even the option to camp over night (you must provide your own camping equipment though).

What is included in the Photography Adventure day:

  • A typical day lasts a minimum 8 hours.

  • Transportation between locations is provided,

  • Use of a Lee Filter kit,

  • Tripod if required,

  • Image review,

  • Lightroom session either after session or via video chat,

Excluded

  • Accommodation,

  • Meals,

  • Camera equipment,

  • Insurance,

Adventure Workshops

I run a range of photography Adventure Workshops that range from 2 days to 7 day trips. These workshops are designed to take you to locations you might have never visited before and open up your eyes to the possibility. You have the option to use your voucher towards any of my photography Adventure workshops. To use your voucher, fill out the form below and select Workshop where it asks Are you organising a 1-2-1/group or allocate your voucher to a workshop. Complete the boxes then provided and I will then be in touch with the details. Please note that the voucher CAN NOT be used towards the deposit of the workshop but it will be allocated to the final bill.
